Christopher Nolan & Christian Bale started a new trilogy with "Batman Begins", while the "Star Wars" prequels came to a merciful end with "Revenge of the Sith". Tyler Perry debuted Madea with "Diary of a Mad Black Woman", & Paris Hilton was killed in the 2nd remake of "House of Wax". Diana Wynne Jones' classic fantasy got the Studio Ghibli treatment in "Howl's Moving Castle", while Wallace & Gromit fought "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit". Another fantasy came to life with "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe", & Frank Miller's graphic novel "Sin City" hit the big screen with Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke & Jessica Alba. The latter played Invisible Woman in "Fantastic Four", while Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie hit it off in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". Laughs were had with Steve Carell as "The 40-Year-Old Virgin", and Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson in "Wedding Crashers". "Crash", "Capote", "Brokeback Mountain" & "Cinderella Man" all competed at next year's Oscars.
