Films Umbrellas Saw in June 2019
The list is rank-ordered, most liked first. This is of course my subjective opinion - for instance most people probably wouldn't put 'Pickpocket' 2nd-last, but I really don't like Bresson. Peckinpah, by contrast, I can never get enough of, and 'Cross of Iron' is one of his finest. Of the films I hadn't seen before, 'Double Indemnity' was easily the best - Barbara Stanwyck has to be the ultimate femme fatale. Meanwhile the unexpected delight of the month award goes to 'The Mouthpiece' - Warren William is superb as a crooked lawyer.
