First Novels by Famous Authors

As the title says, these are the first published novels of some well known writers. Some of these books are world famous and made their authors' reputations; others are less well known (or downright obscure) works that give little indication of what was to come.
Note: the debate still rages over Hemingway's first novel. I've gone with "The Sun Also Rises" because most experts consider "Torrents of Spring" (which was published shortly before TSAR IN 1926) to be a novella, not a novel.
