The 1900s was the first decade of the 20th century in which anything and everything seemed possible. It was a decade of rapid technological advancement in which the still young motion picture industry played a leading role. The cinematic master of the decade was undoubtedly Georges Méliès, who, through his Star Film Company, brought over 500 productions to life, all while pushing the boundaries of what was possible and captivating millions of people around the world. 101 out of these 250 works are, in fact, Méliès productions, showing what a profound impact he had on the art of early filmmaking.
