General Hospital celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023. 1980 was one of my favorite "seasons" of the show. I was 10 years old and was glued to ABC whenever I was out of school.Storylines:
Monica-Rick-Alan baby paternity triangle which broke up Rick and Lesley Webber; Jeff Webber searching for the baby his estranged wife Heather put up for adoption while Heather was in a mental institution after trying to drug nurse Diana Taylor who had unknowingly adopted their son; Jeff Webber and Joe Kelly vying for the attention of nurse Anne Klein; Brian Phillips and Claudia Johnston dating and going to college and desperately trying to find a storyline that wasn't supporting Scott & Laura or Luke & Laura; nurse Bobbie Spencer losing her fiance and then having her brother inadvertently go to work for the mob, raping teen bride Laura Webber Baldwin, getting engaged to a mobster's daughter, and then going on the run with Laura Baldwin for a summer that changed soap operas forever.
