Good Reading Guide to World Fiction:Part 3-Europe & the British Isles - Page 11

My final list of books from the above-mentioned book. Most European countries are covered with either an author from there or a novel set there. Nobel prize winners, books more famous as movies, historical, crime-you name it. Many authors are listed in "1001 Books to Read Before You Die". If you're looking for a publisher that covers some of the non-English books, NYRB & Vintage are great. If you like this this list, others to check are-"501 Must-Read Books"; the "Rough Guides" to classics, crime & cult fiction; & Bloomsbury's various "100 Must-Read" guides. One book not here that I recommend is "Let the Right One In" by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist, basis for the famous movie(the remake "Let Me In" is not as good). Anyways, to quote the cover-"Discover your next great read"!
