I chose this age because this was a particularly happy time during my childhood, and obviously well before the trials of high school. Also it gives me an excuse to (re)read a favourite class of chapter books.
I kept adding books until I came across a work by an Australian author, but that was so far into the list that I eventually added all books with 1000+ ratings. And yes, there are some weird inclusions.
