Great Film Scores - Page 10

Here is a list of some of the film scores that I consider the best (alphabetical-chronological by composer). This means they have been in high rotation for me on my stereo or tops on my wishlist of items to buy. In not all cases have I seen the film the music accompanies, and in some cases I dislike the film itself (e.g. Justin Burnett's wonderful score for the abyssmal Dungeons & Dragons). Often an album will have less music than is heard in the film, or it will contain music that did not make the final cut of the film. I made this list because I think very often some of the best film music does not get acknowledged, especially if the film isn't incredibly successful or the composer isn't John Williams or a handful of others. None of these are needle-drop soundtrack compilsations. Musicals, operas, and scores based on pre-existing music (classical or popular) had to be feature films (not films of stage productions) with music newly arranged/recorded for me to count them.
