Great Historical Fiction for the Unromantic - Page 2

50 + great works of historical fiction that meet the following criteria:
1) Make a serious attempt at authenticity and accuracy
2) Do not attempt to romanticize the past or create " Romance " novels ( Hence no Dumas, DuMaurier, Sabatini, Gregory, Weir, etc. They are all fine writers and I like their work, but this list is not about that.)
3) Literary quality.
4) Books are specifically about eras other than when they were written.(Sorry; Sherlock Holmes is NOT historical fiction).
