Great Horror Books According to the Horror Writers Association of America

As we move into fall and the Halloween season, our retired English Teacher and genre enthusiast looks for good horror novels and collections to keep him up nights. Here is a recommended reading list from the Horror Writers Association of America that just might do the trick. The list is quirky, with several surprising inclusions and omissions, but on the whole it seems to be quite the spook-fest.
Note: The list refers to "Darklands" by Dennis Etchison, but I can find no work of that title in any Etchison bibliography. I have assumed the compilers meant "The Dark Country", so I have included it.
