Greatest Books Top 500: The 2021 Update: Uppers & Downers - Page 3

This is my annual update of the thegreatestbooks.org Top 500, obviously using the latest version of the source list. The latter is now using "130 'best of' book lists from a variety of great sources", including many of your favourites.
How has the list altered over the past year? Immediately noticeable was that some classic works, such as Shakespeare's plays and those of ancient Greece & Rome, have made great strides upwards. Amazingly 'Macbeth' has jumped upwards by 140 places (from 301 to 161). Modern works, if anything, tend to be drifting slightly downwards.
