Hellsing is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. It was serialized in Shōnen Gahōsha's seinen manga magazine Young King OURs from April 1997 to September 2008.
The series chronicles the efforts of the mysterious and secret Hellsing Organization as it combats vampires, ghouls, and other supernatural foes who threaten England.
The series went through many forms before arriving at it's final state: early versions of many of the characters would appear some of author Kouta Hirano's early manga in the 1990s (Hirano has said that these stories are, while not necessary reading, still in canon with the main series).
