Influential Musicians Who Rarely Appear on Listchallenges Lists of Influential Musicians

This list is not intended to be comprehensive. But it is intended to prove that the other lists of "influential artists" aren't comprehensive, either. I'm still learning about the history of popular music and don't want to settle for a superficial understanding, and hope you don't, either. And I don't consider the influence of these artists to be entirely positive, either. I'm not as fond as other people are of the cheesy Europop which ABBA helped popularize, and Grand Funk Railroad flat-out sucked, but the dumbed-down pop-metal they invented dominated rock and roll radio in the 1980's.
