Last/Next: The 100 Book Milestone Edition - Page 4

For the first time, I have read 100 books in one year - and it's only November! It is too early for a year-end retrospective, but I did want to mark this milestone with a list. So, here are the 100 books I read in 2023 (listed in chronological order), and 100 more I plan to read next. The likelihood of me adhering to this Next list is quite slim. It requires I read mainly books that I already own, and realistically, I won't be able to resist the euphoria of searching for and buying a new book for long.
Some Highlights I highly recommend:
- Middlemarch
- Stoner
- Hello Beautiful
- The Lover (Sacks)
- The Door
Biggest Disappointments:
- Happy Place
- Berlin
- Lecherous Limericks
- The Windeby Puzzle
- The Dud Avocado
Rereads, Past and Future:
- A Thousand Mornings
- Milk Fed
- Little Women
- The Secret History
- Devotions
- Bear
- Books 2-4 of the Neapolitan Novels
