100 books by well known authors that are NOT the first titles one thinks of when one hears that author's name. All of them are quite good ( or at least interesting) in their own right, and are worth reading. I have tried to limit the list to one book per author, but in a couple of cases, I couldn't make up my mind and opted for both.
