This somewhat chaotic list includes French and Italian directors who don't receive due attention today or, despite their importance, don't have the fame they deserve. This list is solely my subjective opinion and is intended to familiarize me more fully with the filmography of these directors.
The list is a continuation of my "List of Extremely Underrated Directors and Their Films". I didn't include French and Italian directors from that list (Cavani, Duras, Bonello, etc.) in this list.
In this list you will not find famous directors like Fellini or Godard. But some of the directors were very famous at the time.
Most of the directors don't have their own list on LC, although some have (Assayas, Tavernier, Leconte, Dumont, and later added Garrel, Blier, Zeffirelli, Sautet).
I hope this list will be useful to someone.
