No, I haven't dated a lot of guys. But seriously, how different is picking a boy from picking a boyfriend? It helps if you have common interests, like, say, horror and music (Josh Malerman). If he's got a sense of humor and likes to cook, all the better (J Ryan Stradal). And if he's a bit dark and scary and you can earn a little macho cred from hanging out with him, well, that's perfect (Chris Offutt). Okay, maybe the last isn't your idea of romance or bromance, but I'm not here to judge and hope you aren't, either.
