Marjane Satrapi's Favorite Films - Page 2

Marjane Satrapi spent her childhood in Tehran and continued her studies in Strasbourg at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs. Between 2000 and 2003 she published Persepolis, a four-volume graphic novel inspired by her childhood spent in Iran during the Islamic revolution as well as in Europe. Then came Chicken with Plums (2005), which won the prize for Best Album at the Angoulême Festival. She co-directed two film adaptations with Vincent Paronnaud, and the animated film Persepolis won the Jury Prize at Cannes in 2007. Marjane Satrapi left the world of graphic novels for the cinema and wrote the road movie Gang of the Jotas (2012) and the American horror comedy The Voices (2014). She is currently working on the film Radioactive, about the life of Marie Curie and based on the graphic novel by Lauren Redniss.
