These books are moderately popular (~3% to ~10%) on some of the most well-regarded challenges, such as "Guardian's 1000 Novels Everyone Must Read". On this list you won't find any superstar books such as the Harry Potters, 1984 & Pride and Prejudice (which I hope many of you will greet with a sigh of relief). One book per author.
BTW, the small number of books I have read are at 150-172. Most of the unread books on the list have not featured very strongly on my book radar. But since The Guardian says I MUST read them, I'll have to pay more attention to them.
