Masterpieces of Science Fiction (Easton Press)

The Easton Press is a reprint publishing house that specializes in subscription, leather bound , archival editions of all kinds of books. It offered subscriptions to a number of different series; one of its most popular and long running series was this one, "Masterpieces of Science Fiction." Between 1986 and 2002 they issued 139 different titles (plus several reissues of selected titles) as part of the series. There is often confusion as to how many titles were in the series because Easton also had a limited signed edition series of SF novels and collections as well. With new Introductions and commissioned artwork in beautifully produced volumes, Easton set out to create a permanent library that covered the range and variety of SF. Based on the titles below, by and large they succeeded.
