Memories of Films on Cable TV - 1987-1992 - Page 3

The films on this list evoke memories of viewing movies on cable television in the years that I first became a movie buff. Premium movie channels that showed films uncut and uninterrupted were a godsend to film fans. I saw many of these films on premium cable channels such as HBO, Cinemax, and The Movie Channel. Other films on this list are films that I have not seen but that I remember being played on the premium channels a lot in those years. Still others I recall from the listings in the cable guides that I so obsessively marked up. A lot of the foreign films on this list played on Bravo. In the late 1980's and the early 1990 's Bravo was pay premium channel that specialized in art films and cultural programs. Of course, Bravo eventually morphed into a basic cable channel full of reality TV junk. Speaking of junk, some of the cheesiest films on this list played on Joe Bob Briggs' Drive-In Theater, which was a staple on The Movie Channel in the late 1980's.
