The high point of Silent Pictures, the 1920's movie featured speed. Speedy cars, speedy stunts, and speedy romance. As technology found it's way into every corner of the country, many a picture featured a "hayseed" witnessing the incoming new technology with surprise and the requisite comedy of errors. From the "Electric House" to "The Jazz Singer", progress was coming and nobody could stop it.
