Movie Deaths That Slapped Audiences in the Face

Not naming specific characters but spoilers nonetheless. You can tell I've been watching the Halloween movies based on my recent lists hey? Many egregious examples in that franchise but nothing dumber than Resurrection, a film so bad most fans pretend it doesn't exist to keep the ending of H20 in their minds as the true ending. Most of these examples are of iconic characters returning, garnering hype, only to have them killed off early in the film to make way for other characters. Probably many more examples in horror franchises but I didn't want to spoil myself too much researching for this list as I'm fairly new to the genre.
