Movies With After-Credits Scenes - Page 5

Although they become extremely popular through the current stream of superhero films, the first after-credits or post-credits scenes first appeared in the 80s. The scenes were often used as a form of metafiction, with characters showing an awareness that they were at the end of a film, and sometimes telling the audience directly to leave the theatre.
Nowadays, at least when giant franchises are concerned, the intent is the opposite; where extra scenes act as teasers for the next film, encouraging you to come back for more again and again.
