Muses and the Songs They Inspired - Page 2

"muse: a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist." This list is based on classic rock and punk history, and is by no means comprehensive, even for those genres. I did not include muses who, to the best of my knowledge, only inspired a single well-known song, a common phenomenon for serial killers (The Adverts' "Gary Gilmore's Eyes," Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska," etc etc). I did include songs whose subject is still a matter of debate, but I've always liked the theory that "You're So Vain" is about David Geffen.
