There are games you might expect to see on a list like this that you won't find below. That's cool and that's fine: by its definition criticism is personal. If my time here at Paste's games section has accomplished anything, hopefully it's establishing an idiosyncratic vision and voice that are personal, consistent, and immediately recognizable. This list reflects that ambition while praising the hard work and groundbreaking artistry of brilliant designers from around the world. You'll surely disagree with it on some level, but hopefully you'll still respect the games that made this list, and the decisions that went into crafting it."
