this is admittedly a pretty flimsy list, as paul has never to my knowledge published any lists of favorite films, and the language he uses in interviews and the likes to describe films he purportedly admires is occasionally ambiguous enough to engender doubt that the films he describes are in fact favorites of his or merely films featuring aspects he admires or is inspired by. in any case this is most of the titles i felt (relatively) secure in including.
