"Movies discussed in Alexandra Heller-Nicholas's Rape-Revenge Films: A Critical Study, which "surveys a sample of rape-revenge films that span genre and national and historical boundaries to emphasize that, in regard to the treatment of sexual violence in the category, diverse notions coexisted contemporaneously and continue to do so today." Many of these films are not strictly rape-revenge, but are discussed to give context to the theme of sexual violence.
Updated to include films discussed in the revised 2nd edition (2021), which has an increased focus on rape-revenge films directed by women.
