Schlocko's 100: Favorite Films of Someone Who Hates Superheroes, Sci-Fi and Fantasy

I know that many people love escapist films; but being relatively happy, I don't know what I need to escape. Hence my preference for dramas like "A Streetcar Named Desire," satires like "Network" and political allegories like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (which is only nominally science fiction). So no, I'm not going to bother with the latest "Spiderman" re-boot if I can stay home and watch a Hitchcock I've only seen four or five times. In rough chronological order of release:
