Seldom Thought of Fantasy and Science Fiction Worth Reading

With one exception, these are F & SF tales. Some are aimed at juveniles, some at YA, some at adults. Each of them is worth considering reading. There are a couple books that are sequels. There are a few that are less well known works by well known and/or award winning authors. (It is hard to think of *anything* that L'Engle wrote as overlooked, but there it is, regardless.)
