Shay's 2024 Books, With 8 Days Left in the Year

I am finishing up the year by reading a lot of poetry written by various poets laureate and award winners. It's been a mixed bag. My favorite was Ishmael Reed's "Why the Black Hole Sings the Blues." My favorite novel of the year was "The Fox Wife" narrowly over "The Women" which got a little bit soap opera-ish in the second half. "The Return of Ellie Black" was also very good.
