SLJ's Top 100 Board Books for Young Children - Page 2

LISTED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH SLJ RANKED THE BOOKS. School Library Journal periodically conducts polls of their membership to compile "Top 100" lists in specific categories. This poll, conducted in August 2018, looks at the top 100 BOARD BOOKS... a format designed for very young children. Some books are written specifically for this shortened format, and some are shortened versions of books that were originally much longer. Unfortunately, some books are not as enjoyable in a shortened format... so it's very helpful to check this type of reference (by professionals who have interacted with young children with these board books) to identify those books which are "hits" with the younger set. This compilation and preparation of SLJ poll results was conducted by Elizabeth Bird, Collection Development Manager of the Evanston Public Library system.
