It was about a week ago that I suddenly decided to make my own variation of the old "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" list. I guess I was just getting tired of seeing so many versions of it popping up over and over again. Also, having finished every edition of it thus far, I wasn't really that impressed with it overall. Making my own list of 1,001 movies turned out to be a bit more time-consuming than expected, but I'd say I'm quite satisfied with how this turned out.
This list is a combination of movies I consider to be essential, ones I consider to be underrated, ones I think need more exposure, and some that are really just personal favorites. Many movies fall into two or more of those categories. I also threw in some real oddball choices for the sake of variety. Sure, it might be a bit of a hodgepodge, but hey, so were the original "1001 Movies" books.
I wish I were allowed more than 1,000 characters here, but oh well. I look forward to seeing the results for this one.
