"There are songs out there that just seem to stick/don't quit; which is why Stacker is inspecting the top 100 songs that dominated the charts the longest. To determine the longest-serving songs as of the end of 2021, Stacker consulted the Billboard Hot 100. Songs are ranked by the number of weeks they spent at #1 on the chart (all songs listed spent at least 7 weeks at the top), and ties are broken by the number of weeks they spent on the charts in total (or # of weeks in the Top 10 for the seven here that charted after March 2020). Every decade is represented since the Hot 100 came into existence. The wide variety of songs that have ruled the Billboard Hot 100 charts will leave you humming a tune in your head. In order to chart on the Hot 100, songs had to be available as a single for purchase, so big hits like "Don't Speak" (No Doubt), "Torn" (Natalie Imbruglia), and "Iris" (Goo Goo Dolls) didn't chart as no way to track sales as a single (all points came from radio airplay)."
