Study Bibles Used and Recommended

An essential in the armour of a student of the Bible is a Study Bible. I have used all of these . I have more or less put them in order of favourites but any ordering is imperfect. Each of them has specific merits. There are two items listed that are not strictly study Bibles, namely the Naves Topical and the Parallel Bible. Naves does everything a Study Bible does in grouping and cross referencing verses. It is a treasure house of knowledge. A parallel comparison of translations is incredibly useful in working out a clear understanding of what has been said. there are several versions of these. The one in the picture is one of the most useful I think. I could also have included the Amplified Bible which deals with shades of meaning but I think the Parallel is a better choice.
