Sue's 100 Best Songs of the 1950s

My mom graduated from high school in 1954, two years early. She went to work in Memphis, Tennessee right as Little Richard and B.B. King were setting the town alight, and Elvis and Jerry Lee were coming along to learn at their feet. I grew up on 50s music of all kinds -- ballads, story songs, doo-wop, blues, strolls, pop, but my Mom's heart was in R&B. I love 50s vocal jazz, but Ray Charles and Elvis will always own my soul.
