There's always been more to Chicago rock and roll than the bluster of Styx, the blandness of Chicago, the bloat (sonic and otherwise) of Billy Corgan. From the mid-60's onward, we've been fond of loud guitars and catchy tunes here in Chicago, and here's just a few of the brave Windy City combos who've combined Beatlesque melodies with Who-like volume, sometimes becoming America's Sweethearts, sometimes playing Total Insanity in total obscurity.
