TCM's The Essentials Volumes 1 and 2

Beginning in 2001, one of the mainstays of Turner Classic Movies's programming is its Saturday evening offering called "The Essentials". Each week TCM's lead host (first the late Robert Osborne, now Ben Manckiewicz) and a noted authority and/or film lover would introduce, present, and discuss a film that TCM deemed essential viewing for a knowledgeable film buff. In 2016, TCM began publishing companion books to the series written by Jeremy Arnold. So far, there have been two volumes, each presenting 52 "Must See Movies and Why They Are Important!" Here are the 104 movies contained in the two published volumes to date.
