"A word on what classifies as an action movie: we have excluded comic-book franchise movies from the MCU and DC. They are action movies, but they'd require their own series themselves. One exception in the entire series - 'Blade.' The same goes for Bond movies. We've included a small selection of war movies, but 'Saving Private Ryan' & 'Dunkirk' have been left out. It's the same with action-comedy & action-horror. We excluded 'The Blues Brothers' as it has more music & comedy than action. 'Aliens' features in this series as it's action-horror, being that it's about a squad of soldiers being picked off by aliens. 'Alien' was left off as it's closer to horror. For the likes of action sci-fi, we've kept it mostly to non-franchise entries.The emphasis: more on action than sci-fi. We've included crime movies, & while some brush up against thriller as opposed to action, the ones we've chosen are definitely action-packed. Mann's 'Heat' is closer to a heist movie than an action movie."
