The 50 Best Classic TV Theme Songs - Page 2

While there are lots of good new TV series theme songs, there is something about these 50 that make them classics. You didn't have to be looking at the TV, when these songs started playing, you immediately knew what was on. Many have become cultural icons; we hum the Twilight Zone theme when something strange happens, the PA plays the Jeopardy theme when there is a delay at a sporting event. They get referenced in movies (John Candy singing the Flintstones theme on the bus, because everyone knows it, but he just as easily could have picked the Gilligan's Island theme.) We warble out the Mission Impossible theme if we ever do anything remotely dangerous, or the Bonanza theme if we ever go beyond a trot when riding a horse. And just try not to whistle the Andy Griffith Show theme if you're waking along a country road. For the TV generation, this is the soundtrack of our lives. They are in alphabetical order, because there was no way I could try and rank them.
