Bad reviews don't necessarily doom a show: strong ratings may grant it an early renewal. As it turns out, many of the lowest-rated shows of all time have run over years & even decades, proving that taste is subjective, & that many of us enjoy watching TV we know isn't very good. To examine forgotten flops & critical disasters of the past 50 years, Stacker analyzed IMDb data on English-language TV shows & ranked the lowest-rated for each year from 1975 to 2024. The show had to have an IMDb user rating & a premiere date in the given year. Minimum vote thresholds were used for shows pre & past 1990. Some shows aired for one season, while others remained on TV for decades. Many started off on the right foot & derailed somewhere along the way; others had a rocky start & improved." - stacker.com
