The Batchelder Award - 1968 to 2021 - Page 2

The third in a series of lists focusing on the winners of the many children's book awards of the American Library Association (ALA) and its many affiliates throughout the course of the first hundred years of the Newbery Medal. This time, it's the Mildred L. Batchelder Award, which is awarded for "the most outstanding of those books originally published in a foreign language in a foreign country and subsequently translated into English and published in the United States". The people credited to these books on this list not only are the ones who wrote them, but also the ones who translated them. NOTE: Since I couldn't list the translators for "Rose Blanche" on its entry because I couldn't fit their names in the Authors space when you make a custom list item, I am going to list them: Martha Coventry and Richard Craglia.
