Films like Johnny Guitar, 3:10 to Yuma, as well as the those by Budd Boetticher (The Tall T, Ride Lonesome), William A. Wellman (The Ox-Bow Incident), and, of course, John Ford are proof that there's no shortage of great westerns. The only problem is narrowing the choices. That's why Espresso decided not to consider films set in contemporary times, such as the excellent Lone Star, No Country for Old Men, and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, but rather narrowed their selection to the very best of classic and modern westerns.
