The Comprehensive Classical Literature Reading List - Page 5

I love classical literature. More specially, classical European literature, which I view as being the period from c.1650-1905. This list includes all the European works of classical literature of that period which I believe are both enjoyable to read but also foundational to those seeking to understand the rich 'platform' that all subsequent literature was able to build from. Importantly, it does not include works which I don't believe meet either of those criteria. I spent my twenties reading these novels (yes, I had a life outside that), and I'm so grateful that I did so. It now allows me to enjoy modern literature and to understand the context of great novels in the larger scheme of literature. I hope someone finds this list useful.
