( The compiler has already done one of those.) Readers should feel free to disagree with or take exception to both the selections and the omissions. Our director set a limit of 50 to keep the list manageable; despite some very hard choices, he couldn't get below 51. Here are the answers to what he thinks will be the most asked questions: 1)"Hamilton" and "Wicked" are excluded because at the end of the day, despite their obvious theatricality, there is so much less there than meets the eye; and 2) "Cats" and "Phantom" are missing because Andrew Lloyd Webber w/o Tim Rice is all spectacle and no substance.
