Featutong an introduction by Deboarh Kerr, this overzied, lavishly illustrated book from Citadel Press was published in 1978. Illustrates and provides synopses of the best British films imported to the United States from 1933 to 1971, including The Lavender Hill Mob, Women in Love, Tom Jones and A Night to Remember. Jerry Vermilye (born 1931) told Contemporary Authors, "As a lifelong collector of movie-still photography, I was originally inspired to showcase these in a volume exploring a certain star's work, accompanied by biographical text and critical evaluation of the career. This spread to generically attuned volumes and subjects. I type or write in longhand on notepads, later employing others to transcribe on computer disks. I do not own a computer." He considers himself lifetime expert on Hollywood and European movies of the golden age and wrote similar volumes about Italian films, films of the '20s, the '30s, Olivier, B. Davis, C. Bronson, Crabbe, J. Arthur, A. Hepburn, etc.
