This list was published by The Guardian in 2007.
No artist appears more than once, only if they're collaborating with other artists/bands, and compilations, live albums, and mixes were eligible. Arguably, the most interesting fact about this list is that it favors alternative albums and obscure acts, offering great opportunities for new musical discoveries.
All albums descriptions on the main list were made by The Guardian's staff. Also included, in the last page, the extra albums pointed out by their readers as omissions ( 1002 -1053). These releases were picked by the responsible staff as well and included separately in the series.
