The Literary 100: The Most Influential Novelists, Playwrights, and Poets of All Time

Something much less frivolous than my recent challenges. This is an epic challenge (not least in terms of the time it took to assemble). It is derived from "The Literary 100, Revised Edition: A Ranking of the Most Influential Novelists, Playwrights, and Poets of All Time" (Daniel S.Burt, 2009).
The authors are ranked in descending order. I have chosen 2 representative works for each of them (except for Sappho, in which case I have inserted Erica Jong's "Sappho's Leap " into the 2nd spot (176). The chosen works might not have been mentioned in the source book.
