The National Board of Review recently published its rankings for the Best of 2016 in film, selecting a "Best Film" as well as nine other films to round out the top ten in Alphabetical order. They also selected their 5 best Foreign Language films, 5 best Documentaries, 10 best Independent films, and gave out awards for individual achievements. For the sake of ordering this list, the "Best Film" shall appear first, followed by the nine other "best films" in alphabetical order, then to be followed by the foreign film winners, the documentaries, independent films and lastly individual achievement recipients, all in alphabetical order, excepting those that had already been present earlier in the list.
