The sixth in a series of lists focusing on the winners of the many children's book awards of the American Library Association (ALA) and its many affiliates throughout the course of the first hundred years of the Newbery Medal. This time, it's the Pura Belpré Award, which is awarded for "excellence in the portrayal of the Latino experience in children's literature". For those books on this list that won for the writing, only the authors of those works are credited. As for the ones on this list that won for the illustrations, only the illustrators are credited.
